After going to Mrs. Edmiston, the pain in my lower back almost completely went away. I was originally supposed to be out for 6 weeks, but I felt substantially better in 3 weeks. We went through stretches and she was extremely nice and helped me through the whole routine. Immediately after the process I felt relief in my back and wanted to go back again.
Beth is truly the most amazing PT I have ever seen . Her dry needling techniques have kept my severe spinal stenosis to a minimum. Even allowing me to play competitive tennis . Honestly , I could not continue my heathy lifestyle without her healing hands .
Pilates is the first item to go on my calendar every week! It’s my weekly “me time”. For the past few years, I have been doing Pilates with Beth. She has an amazing knowledge base and encouraging spirit. Through Pilates, I have gained strength, stamina, and flexibility and seen improvements in my posture.
Patient with the following conditions: 4 lower back surgeries 1 neck 2 fusions 1 bulging disc in middle of spine Rheumatoid Arthritis My History was going to a Pain management doctor in Memphis who utilized opioids and injections for the pain. Once moving to Ocean Springs I saw a new Pain management doctor who only did injections. He said I would benefit from seeing Beth. I have seen minimum of 10-12 Physical therapists over my 20 years with this degenerative disc disease. I had to stop working and was put on disability. I have been a patient of Beth Edmistons for 4 plus years. The first year I couldn’t drive to Gulfport from Ocean Spring because of the pain from my back down my right leg. Beth was the first pt that ever took time did one on one assessments with me. My right hip was continually going higher than the left. We did exercises to correct it, utilizing dry needling each time. She saw me each week sometimes twice if needed. She gave me specific exercises to do at home. She never gave up! I have never had a physical therapist that has seen me each time with the attention and care. She stays with you, corrects every movement, and will implement all types of exercises, dry needling, hot rocks, cupping, breathing, and posture to help heal you. I was slowly able to drive and had less frequent injections. When she moved inside a Ocean Springs location pilates studio, she encouraged me to take Rehab Reformer Pilates classes. I was skeptical but figured she had helped me come so far!! 3 years ago I started taking Pilates. NOONE had ever explained to me how important the core is to the stability of the back. The CORE as being the whole girdle around your middle. How important it is to strengthen this entire area for the back. Not just those stomach muscles in the front. How to breathe properly, the deep breathing techniques. My hip will now be EVEN, its so exciting being in control of my body. I can now walk with my husband on trips, walk for exercise with my friends, and PLAY with my grandkids. Beth has not only become a significant healthcare provider for be but she is my best encourager and loving people I am so blessed to know.
When we moved to Ocean Springs I had been dealing with shoulder pain for 2 years. Thanks to Beth and her practice, I am finally back to normal and able to do everything I once was able to do. Since then, I’ve managed to hurt other things, Beth’s approach and ability to help me get functional movement and work on technique and posture have benefitted my overall health tremendously. I’ve referred her to other friends and family members and they have all been thrilled!

Meet Our Professional Instructors
Beth Edmiston
Instructor
Owner of Perle Physical Therapy and Pilates, Beth Edmiston has been a physical therapist since 1999. She graduated from the University of Florida and has been practicing PT ever since. She moved to the gulf coast with her husband and children in 2008. Beth loves a patient challenge. Her rebranding name to Perle comes from the symbolism of a pearl. A pearl is a sign of hope and it is Beth’s desire to provide hope to each of her patients who have chronic or a new pain, failed other PT treatments and want to move and feel better. She likes to see patients for any orthopedic conditions and help them achieve their highest potential. She utilizes rehab Pilates techniques, dry needling, manual therapy and specific activity and exercise instruction. Her comprehensive approach has been successful getting people feeling their best.
Kate
Instructor
Kate English earned her BS in Physical Therapy from UMC in 1997 and is a certified Pilates instructor through Power Pilates, having completed a 600-hour certification program. In 2022, she completed a comprehensive training in Pilates movements and all related equipment. Kate works with both patients and clients in outpatient physical therapy settings and Pilates studios, integrating her skills in Pilates, physical therapy, and dry needling. Classically trained, she teaches private one-on-one Pilates sessions, group Pilates mat and mat/tower/reformer classes, Pilates sports group classes, and group rehab reformer classes. Inspired by her grandmother’s stroke, Kate is passionate about helping others restore function, move pain-free, achieve personal goals, and enhance their overall well-being. In her free time, she enjoys family time, walking, Pilates workouts, and exploring holistic health and nutrition. Grounded in her faith, her favorite bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.
Heidi St. Amant
Instructor
Heidi St. Amant earned her BS in Biology from Millsaps College in 1998, followed by a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from UMC in 2001. As a former collegiate soccer player and lifelong tennis enthusiast, Heidi leverages her strong athletic background to effectively work with athletes and a wide range of patient populations, including geriatrics, who hold a special place in her heart. Certified through the Power Pilates mat program, she teaches Pilates mat classes and is currently pursuing comprehensive certification to incorporate the full Pilates apparatus into her client and patient programs. Additionally, Heidi is certified in dry needling, further enhancing her physical therapy expertise. A longtime resident of Ocean Springs, she enjoys CrossFit, tennis, watching her kids play sports, and spending quality time with family and friends. Living each day to the fullest inspires Heidi to cherish moments with her family and bring that same energy and dedication to her clients.
